We had a fabulous and super informative evening at the July event. Rose Cole and her husband who run Coles Sewing centre in Nottingham were our special guests. They are the UK’s largest dealer of Husqvarna Viking sewing products. It turned out that Neil and Rose also have strong links with Leicester.
They talked through some really useful maintenance tips for looking after your sewing machine, some trouble shooting tips that are helpful to know before you head to your local mechanic.
Rose gave a great talk about machine needles a comprehensive guide to what needle to use for what. At the end we all received a fantastic goody bag with needle guide, sewing magazine and variegated sewing thread among other things.
Not only did we have this talk but we also had the chance to try out around 15 different machines, ranging from the super embroidery machines through to overlockers and general sewing machines.
Rose and Neil clearly offer a fantastic after sales service, buying a machine from Coles includes a workshop afterwards on how to use it.
There was some great examples of things made by some of these impressive machines.
We also had the opportunity to shop for all the sewing room essentials, magazines and fabrics. As well as a chance to buy some of Ruth’s super cheap designer fabric and we had our usual bric-a-brac stall.
At the next event there will be a selection of mini workshops, a perfect chance to try something new and have fun with like minded crafters. We will also be host to an exclusive Sewing Cafe of Hinckley sale. I’m sure you will agree a night not to missed!
Looking forward to seeing you there.
