This month we decided to try out a mass workshop at the event. I designed a simple sewing tool roll that we thought would be ideal to keep all basic sewing essentials in. Easy to grab as you run out of the door to future Sew Sociable events, packed with everything you need to take part in the evenings workshop. I promised to post the tutorial on this blog and also on my Bobbins and buttons blog which I will be doing shortly.
I started the evening with a quick run down of how to make it with the help of a slideshow, before helping people individually. All materials were provided and everyone soon got into making the tool rolls.
There were several machines which everyone shared making the evening even more sociable.
Some people bought there own fabric and others used what was provided. The results looked great.
I love this one that has a two fabric backing.
I think everyone that wanted to complete the project in the evening did!
Next month you can most definitely grab your tool roll for another workshop night. Freya from Craft Sew and So will be showing us how to do hexy patchwork. All materials will be provided you just need to bring your sewing essentials – scissors, needles and thread.
The next event is 15th July 7.30-10pm at the Globe pub in Leicester.
