We had a fun night crafting at the August event last Friday. Thanks to the four fabulous workshop runners.
Nicki Merrall ran a pretty crochet necklace workshop.
Very delicate and pretty not the way you usually think of crochet.
Nicki bought along a selection of tools for sale for those that wanted to carry on in their own time!
Cherry from Merriman’s Vintage Jamboree ran a workshop making rag wreaths, using small scraps of fabrics with gorgeous results.
From this heap of scraps to…
… this attractive wreath.
They look stunning in Christmas colours, with the addition of some super size bells!
Well done to our youngest guest, 7 yr old PJ, love her sunny coloured wreath!
Sarah from Crafty Sew and So was teaching some different hand stitches to make a pretty decorative embroidery hoop necklace.
Lots of fun designs ready to embroider.
Rosie was busy dinging the Morsbag bell. She bought along a new version of Morsbag, a quick and easy pillowcase version. The record for making one is 7.5 minutes. That’s just asking to be challenged! Definitely going to have a go at beating that record!
Becky from The Sewing Cafe bought the shops end of season sale exclusively to Sew Sociable, with lots of beautiful designer fabrics for sale.
A juicy array of prints.
Next month we are getting knitty! We will be hearing the story of The Big Textile show from the founder of the event Jenny Lees which is coming up on 26th/27th of Sept. We will hear about how it started and what to expect as well as hearing about the world record attempt that will take place at the show.
We also have the team from Knit One coming along offering a knit and crochet surgery, so if your knits get knotty bring them along and get some expert advise and back on track. There will also be a chance to buy some of their beautiful yarns and knitting/crochet supplies.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
